Born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Jed Jackson has become one of the more intriguing artists working in the Mid-south today.  Since receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Memphis College of Art and Master of Fine Arts degree from Cornell University, Jackson has been awarded numerous grants and fellowships to work and teach across the country and in Europe.  He is currently professor of painting at the University of Memphis, where he serves as Chair of the Department of Art. 

Since the mid-1980's, Jackson's paintings have been exhibited in major solo shows in New York, Chicago, an s St. Louis, among many other cities, and in international group shows in London, Amsterdam, Basel, and Montreal
