what's happening

The Dixon Gallery and Gardens and Memphis in May International Festival, in association with Crafts Council of Ireland and National Craft Gallery, hosted a special exhibition, Forty Shades of Green: Contemporizing Tradition, Acknowledging Craft from April 3 through May 15. This snapshot of contemporary craft in Ireland was presented in conjunction with the city-wide celebration Memphis in May.

The exhibition, organized by The Crafts Council of Ireland for Cork 2005: European Capital of Culture, was comprised of a variety of media including ceramics, glass, textiles, wood, stone, metal, painting, print and sculpture. Curated by Kennedy, Forty Shades of Green included more than one hundred objects.
