"Three centuries of great American art in one extraordinary collection."

During this exhibition, members experienced an entire survey of our nation's art history from the colonial period to today. Artists in the exhibition include John Singleton Copley, Frederic Church, Thomas Cole, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Thomas Hart Benton to name a few. The collection is especially rich in American Impressionism featuring works by Childe Hassam, John Henry Twachtman, Willard Metcalf, Frederick Frieseke and Ernest Lawson.

During the last four decades, the New Britain Museum of American Art has added to the collection with works by numerous American artists like John Smibert, James McNeill Whistler, Norman Rockwell, Robert Henri, Andrew Wyeth, and modern artists Romare Bearden, Stuart Davis, Sam Francis, and Jacob Lawrence.

Join the Dixon as it celebrates the centennial of this remarkable museum with selected master works of American art from NBMAA.

This exhibition is sponsored by Henri and Marsha Wadell and The Bodine Company. Organized by the New Britain Museum of American Art.
